We used to buy thermocouples for our refractory installation business.

Quickly we identified that branded German made thermocouples were pricey and cheap thermocouples took ages to deliver and were not neccessarily accurate, so we started to produce our own thermocouples.

Our thermocouples are made from Johnson Matthey's Platinum Rhodium wire and hence the accuracy is ± 1.5 °C
